The Bickley Park conservation area is characterised by large, elegant houses set individually among mature trees on spacious plots along curving roads — several by Ernest Newton and C.H.B. Quennell, illustrating the evolution of Arts and Crafts. Newton lived here and built his own house on Bird in Hand Lane in 1884. Richard Norman Shaw's Heathbank on Page Heath Lane is Grade II listed. Bickley Park and Mavelstone Road are both conservation areas.
Getting to London
Bickley station sits on the Chatham Main Line. Southeastern run around four trains an hour off-peak direct to London Victoria, fastest around 26 minutes, and Thameslink run direct to London Blackfriars roughly twice an hour.

Bickley Park School is the local independent prep, on Page Heath Lane. Bromley High School GDST is a girls' independent day school — despite the name, its Blackbrook Lane site is in Bickley. St George's and Bickley Primary serve the state sector.
