Godstone has two lovely centres. Church Town is the older of them, with its Grade I church and Gilbert Scott's almshouses of 1872; the Green, with its pond, is where village life happens. Between them there are seventy-one listed buildings, and Oxted and Redhill are both a short drive for the London train. Blindley Heath and Tilburstow Common give plenty of open space close by.

The houses
Church Town is only three hectares and holds the oldest stock — The Old Packhouse, a fifteenth-century timber-framed house at Grade II\*, and a run of Grade II cottages. Godstone Green covers seventeen hectares around the green and its pond, with numbered Grade II houses along the High Street. The Victorian set-piece is St Mary's Almshouses of 1872, Grade II\*, timber framed with incised decoration under plain tiles with ridge cresting.
Getting to London
The station called Godstone is at South Godstone, over two miles south, and has had no direct London service since 2018. Godstone's practical options are Oxted, about four miles away and direct to Victoria and London Bridge, and Redhill, about five miles.

Godstone Primary and Nursery School on Ivy Mill Lane serves the village, and St Stephen's CofE Primary is at South Godstone. The Orpheus Centre on North Park Lane is a performing arts college for young adults with disabilities, founded in 1998.
