Limpsfield is a village and civil parish in the Tandridge district of Surrey, at the foot of the North Downs beside the A25, recorded in Domesday as Limenesfeld. It has 89 listed buildings, around twenty of them medieval, and its common belongs to the National Trust. Oxted station, close by, runs direct to London Victoria and London Bridge. There are 89 listed buildings in the parish and roughly twenty of them are medieval. Within the village conservation area alone there are 35, running from twelfth-century buildings such as St Peter's Church and Old Court Cottage to fifteenth- to seventeenth-century houses like Detillens, The Bull Inn and The Manor House. Old Court Cottage is Grade I, its first phase dating from about 1190, timber-framed on a rubblestone plinth with a steep plain-tiled hipped roof.
Getting to London
Limpsfield has no station of its own and is served by Oxted. Southern run one train an hour off-peak direct to London Victoria, fastest around 38 minutes, and one to London Bridge, fastest around 33 minutes.
Schools
Hazelwood School on Wolf's Hill is the independent co-educational prep, founded in 1890. Limpsfield CofE Infant School serves the village. Limpsfield Grange is a state-funded special school for autistic girls aged 11 to 16, established in 1953.
